Coblonal Interior Design Studio has been in charge of the interior design, the distribution of the spaces and the interior design of this luxurious new construction villa in Castelldefels. Its owners asked us to collaborate from the outset with the architects and the construction company responsible for the volume of new construction in order to decide the best location, distribution, and measurements of the different spaces, materials and finishes, as well as all the facilities, furniture, textiles and other items.
The result is an impressive house designed to enjoy with family and friends in one of the most privileged areas around the city of Barcelona.
The house has two floors and a basement in addition to a large garden with a swimming pool, barbecue module, and an outdoor dining room.
On the ground floor, the large living room stands out with an immense four-piece Baxter sofa finished in leather on an immense rectangular rug with a pattern that combines crude with gold. A long longitudinal niche holds an automated ethanol fireplace that it visually divides and widens an already spacious space even further. Where the fire appears, we find a reading corner consisting of an iconic Eames armchair in ash and black leather and a delicate floor lamp like a Mantis. The audiovisual pillar, designed by Coblonal, contains all the elements and their wiring, minimizing their visual impact. In addition, we find a sophisticated cocktail corner made up of a round table by Poltrona Frau, chairs by Gubi and a suspended lamp by Casamilano.
Behind the living room, we find a guest suite with its own bathroom designed for guests to enjoy privacy while preserving the family rooms located on the top floor. Tom Dixon’s pendant lights look like golden drops that weightlessly levitate.
A pillar with Arabian borders gives way to the dining room and a spacious kitchen to be independently isolated by means of sliding glass doors. The dining room is made up of a large round marble table designed by Coblonal in conjunction with Pedrali velvet upholstered chairs. The Moooi pendant lamp, reminiscent of a cherry tree in full bloom, offers a sophisticated and elegant floral look to the whole. The spacious kitchen has a large kitchen island that serves as both a bar and workspace including the stove. We are fascinated by the incredibly efficient built-in ceiling extractor hood. Marble is the main material in the cladding of the exterior wall and the countertop of the island. In addition, it has a daily dining area where you sit outside.
The staircase that connects the different floors deserves a mention in part. The floating steps, arranged in a spiral, surround a lamp composed of tensioned cables and different glass spheres that illuminate the path. The metal handrail shows the immense quality of the artisans who are part of our team.
On the upper floor are the different rooms of the family that lives in the house. The master suite has a small terrace that allows its inhabitants to look out over the pool area or even sunbathe. The room has a small seating area at the foot of the bed, as well as a spacious dressing room behind two sliding glass doors. The bathroom has two sinks, a large bathtub, and a double shower to enjoy taking care of yourself.
The basement, the rest of the rooms, and the exterior will be addressed in a future photo report.
