Coblonal Interior Design Studio has been commissioned to redesign and reform different spaces of this detached house located in Sant Cugat del Vallés in Barcelona.
The wood is the main protagonist of this interior design project in which the clients needed to gain comfort and multifunctionality in their spaces, as well as a warm and organic aspect for their home.
The result of our intervention is a set of environments where the subtlety of lines contributed by the different architectural volumes and the selected pieces of design on the one hand, with the lived appearance and beautiful imperfection provided by the different textiles as well as the aged pine wood veneers and cement gray porcelain flooring on the other. Careful lighting, with specially selected pieces, adds sophistication to the rooms of the bedroom floor while reproducing a more rustic and casual look in the dining area.
The bedroom area suite and the study is designed to be conceived as a single space that reaches the entire floor. This provides a multifunctional space that incorporates the bedroom, the dressing room, a bathroom suite, a loft and a study area in front of the small outdoor terrace. All of them participate in the same environment connected by furniture at different heights that allows light to flow. The entire space is designed to accommodate up to two additional bedroom spaces: through the sofa bed in the study area and enabling sofas in the loft area. Next to the bathroom door and integrated into the paneling there is a door that allows you to divide the different bedrooms, if necessary. In relation to the connection of spaces, the bathroom covered in mustard tiles of 5×20, has an opening behind the wall where they insert toilet and bidet that allows the passage of natural light and collaborates in the general lightness of the environment.
On the other hand, we find a youth room that has a large desk and headboard with built-in bookshelf, both pieces designed by Coblonal Interior Design. In this case, the wood used, also aged pine, has been treated to somewhat darker shades. For its part, the desk has a chest of drawers on the left side and a built-in dresser that is accessed by lifting the right side of the desktop envelope.
Finally, the dining and kitchen area stands out for the contrast of materials where the composition of the work shelf in front of the dining room serves as a stylistic transition element between both spaces. While the whole dining room reproduces a festive and rustic atmosphere. The shelving of enfrete combines the use of the same wood of enbarnizado oak with a structure and drawer cabinets of great sobriety. A sobriety that anticipates the lines of the kitchen that is accessed through a sliding door in black iron and glass that can separate the kitchen area if necessary or transforms into an adjoining shelving cabinet. The kitchen, of small dimensions, is composed of furniture in panels laminated in matt Basalt color arranged in U-shape and Silestone color Unui counter top. The appliances are grouped in front of the ceramic hob together a sliding door that hides small appliances such as the toaster or coffee maker and assumes even more storage. On the other hand, the pavement is formed by tiles of 100×50 Pearl color.
As a whole, a warm and inviting house is recreated where the wood is a backbone that gives a particular character to the interior design of this house.
